Fundraising & Investor Relations

What is it?

This 2-day master class will look into the essential aspects of the relation between GPs and LPs. Each step of the cycle is tackled in a dedicated session where the different parties involved (GP, LP, Placement agent…) are challenging each other.

The course programme includes topics such as fundraising regulation, fundraising process, reporting, disclosure, investor relations management issues and case studies.

The seasoned lecturers of this master class include Simon Thornton from PearOnline, Phil Bartram & Samuel Kay from Travers Smith, Cat Kipling from TDR Capital, Rob Wright from Pantheon, Ian Simpson from Amala Partners, and Christina Pamberg from Alcyon SA.

Why should you attend?

The current events in the global financial markets will have a particular impact on the fundraising/investor relations function within private equity/venture capital funds. Firstly, fundraising will undoubtedly become significantly harder than it has been for the last five years. Making it very important for firms to think of fundraising as one element of a continuing investor relations programme.

Secondly, we can expect to see a number of issues arising between GPs and LPs (portfolio company write-downs and write-offs, defaulting investors, potential conflicts of interest arising as a result of the need to put more money into portfolio companies where a fund may be fully invested,...). For which again, much of the burden will fall on the investor relations professionals.

This intensive master class focuses on best practices and operational aspects, it aims to provide the answers to very practical questions and issues as well as improve your day-to-day operations.

The limited group size allows participants to raise questions and discuss issues with peers and specialists It also provide a unique networking opportunity with peers from all over Europe.
