Foundation for Support Staff

What is it?
This introductory course is aimed at those staff who are not directly involved with investments but who want to learn about the key aspects of the private equity business and enhance their own contribution to the success of the organisation that they work in. The course is most useful to junior support staff members (not more than 2 years in the private equity industry).
This course will allow participants to:
- Be familiar with vocabulary specific to the private equity and venture capital industry.
- Identify the different stages in private equity investments and understand their implications in terms of administrative support
- Perform more efficiently thanks to a better understanding of the private equity context
During the course, participants will be given the keys to understand their contribution to the complex cycles within the private equity fund and its communication with limited partners.
The course is designed around an interactive simulation of the investment process that allows participants to experience different phases of this cycle and understand the concepts involved in the process, including:
- Setting up and building a fund
- Selection of investments and deal flow management
- Deal structuring
- Adding value and monitoring growth of portfolio companies
- Exiting investments
- Investor relations
Why should you attend?
The course will foster your understanding of the industry which you are working in. It will also enhance your performance and contribution to the success of the team and organisation that you are working for. You will become familiar with specific industry vocabulary and about the key milestones in an investment process as well as investor relations.
Who should attend?
Anyone new to the private equity industry (less than 2 years) who is not directly involved with private equity investments including personal and executive assistants, office managers, accountants, marketing, communication and human resources officers, etc.
The course is also suitable for future CEO's and CFO's of PE-backed companies.
People who are already familiar with the industry vocabulary and the investment cycle are advised to follow the Foundation Course for Investment Professionals for a more thorough understanding of private equity.

Accommodation has been secured at the Sofitel Brussels Le Louise. The deadline for reservation is 07/05/2018. After this date, accommodation will be subject to availability. To book a room, fill in the following form and send it directly to the hotel.
Every reservation should be guaranteed by a credit card. It is emphasized that reservations without a credit card cannot be guaranteed and may be cancelled by the hotel.

Fees, method of payment and cancellation

21% VAT will be added to the above prices.
The above prices also include all material relating to the Foundation for Support Staff as well as coffee breaks, lunches and dinners for the duration of the course. Hotel accommodation is not included in the course fee.
Participants are requested to pay by cheque, banker´s draft, bank transfer or credit card in EURO as shown on the Application Form. Applications sent after 7 May 2018 should be paid by credit card.

A copy of the bank transfer should be sent together with the application form. To avoid any confusion, participants are requested to indicate clearly their names and addresses on transfer orders and cheques. Confirmation of registration for fees and practical information will be sent after receipt of the application form and payment. For late registrations (see above), we require payment via a credit card.
Cancellations can only be accepted if received (in writing) by 7 May 2018. Fees (less 20% administrative charges) will then be refunded. After this date, delegates will be liable for the full fee.
In case of cancellation, a substitution between members of the same company is still possible at any time.
The working language of the course will be English.
To register for the Foundation for Support Staff, the candidate should submit the registration form and proof of payment. Invest Europe maintains the right to refuse the registration if it is not accompanied by all the supporting documents.
Due to the high demand for Invest Europe Training courses, priority is given to Invest Europe members. Registrations will be handled on a first-come first-served basis.
Any registration received after 7 May 2018 should mention a credit card number for the payment of course fees.
