In addition to the work that it undertakes on behalf of its members through its own Committees and Working Groups, Invest Europe also lends its support to other industry associations and organisations to develop useful standards and guidance for the private equity industry.
Two examples of this co-operation include the IPEV Valuation Guidelines and the Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance Disclosure Framework.
The International Private Equity and Venture Capital Valuation (IPEV) Guidelines set out recommendations, intended to represent current best practice, on the valuation of Private Capital Investments. The objectives of these Valuations Guidelines is to set out best practice where Private Capital Investments are reported at ‘Fair Value’ and hence to help investors in Private Capital Funds make better economic decisions.
The Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) Disclosure Framework for Private Equity helps managers report ESG-related information to their investors. Invest Europe supported the development of the Framework, alongside more than 20 Private Equity Associations, 10 private equity firms and 40 investors in private equity from 11 countries.
