The European Data Cooperative “EDC” is a joint initiative and data collection platform developed by Invest Europe and all European private equity and venture capital associations. It serves as a single data entry point for all private equity and venture capital fund managers across Europe.

This report aims to foster awareness of institutional and private sector investors on their potential role and improve understanding of the issues, obstacles and opportunities to help catalyse and increase private investment in climate resilience infrastructure assets.

Users who collect data and report on all the ESG metrics in line with the staged approach are free to download the Invest Europe ESG Reporting Guidelines logo and add it to their reports. Invest Europe does not collect or verify data from this reporting template, the usage of it and the logo is entirely the company’s own responsibility.

These Invest Europe ESG Reporting Guidelines will ensure that investors, and to a certain extent other stakeholders, are able to understand the GP’s approach to sustainability and, for each relevant fund, the main impacts of its investments on relevant sustainability factors.

As the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) screening landscape across Europe is rapidly evolving, Invest Europe has prepared a country-by-country overview to map different existing regimes and keep track of latest developments with a view to helping members assess how FDI screenings may impact their transactions.

This consultation was designed to allow the industry to give input to ESMA on the information that will have to be notified to national competent authorities when marketing cross-border, as a result of the new “CBDF” requirements. This response aimed at giving ESMA relevant details on various technical concerns our members have, among other things, with the notification templates.

The report highlights the scale and growth of the private equity and venture capital (PE/VC) industry in Europe over the past decade, as well as the capital available for new investments.

Ensuring that European tax rules are fit for purpose in light of an increasingly globalised economy is key for venture capital and private equity funds, who have highly varied investment value-chains and diverse investments in companies in all parts of Europe and beyond.

In this consultation response, Invest Europe expresses its concerns about some of the approaches suggested by the Platform for Sustainable Finance in its Draft Report on Minimum Safeguards under the Taxonomy Regulation. Among others, we have stressed the importance of considering not only the need for proportionality, but also the significant impact that PE/VC investments have proven to create.
