Korosis to champion innovation, transparency, and returns to stakeholders for European private equity, venture capital and infrastructure
Brussels, Belgium - 1400 CET 18 June 2025 – Invest Europe, the association representing Europe’s private equity, including listed PE, venture capital and infrastructure sectors, as well as their investors, is pleased to announce the appointment of Elias Korosis, Global Investment Partner, Federated Hermes Private Equity, as its new Chair for 2025-2026. In addition, Sander Slootweg, co-owner and Managing Partner at Forbion, and Vice-chair of the VC Platform Council, was named Chair-elect.
Korosis succeeds Johannes Huth, Senior Advisory Partner, KKR and Managing Director at Groupe Bruxelles Lambert (GBL), who served as Chair during a pivotal year marked by continued advocacy for private capital’s vital role in Europe’s growth and innovation. The association extends its deep thanks to Johannes for his exceptional leadership and commitment.
Korosis has served on the Board and in the LP Council of Invest Europe since 2018. He joined Federated Hermes Private Equity in 2011 and is a member of the Global Investment Committee, with oversight of the Innovation funds and Portfolio Management team. Previously, he worked at Bridgewater Associates, a global macro hedge fund, as a manager in the research function. Korosis started his career with Schroder Salomon Smith Barney and Citigroup, holding several banking and corporate strategy roles in the UK and the US. Elias is an alumnus of the University of Warwick (BSc), the London School of Economics (MSc), and Harvard Business School (PLD).
As Chair of Invest Europe, Korosis will champion three interconnected priorities during his tenure:
Improving understanding of private equity
By addressing misconceptions about the industry and engaging openly on issues such as fees and performance, Elias Korosis aims to elevate investor confidence and support greater capital allocation to the asset class.
Promoting Europe as a private equity growth engine
Elias Korosis will lead efforts to shift the perception of Europe from a legacy market to one of global opportunity, highlighting its leadership in sectors like healthcare, education, decarbonisation, and technology-led productivity.
Broadening access and sharing the benefits of private equity
From pensioners and taxpayers to employees and founders, Elias Korosis believes in extending private equity’s value creation across all layers of society and the economy.
Korosis said:
“Private equity and venture capital have proven their performance over decades in Europe, justifying the push for European LPs to allocate more to the asset class in order to get closer to global averages. The European private equity and venture capital industry is a formidable engine for long-term growth, rich with talent and innovation. My focus will be ensuring all of our stakeholders are working toward growing our industry’s contribution to Europe’s objectives of greater sovereignty, stability and value creation.”
Eric de Montgolfier, CEO, Invest Europe, commented:
“This is Europe’s moment to lead on investment, innovation, and sustainable growth, and Elias Korosis is the right Chair to help our industry rise to that opportunity. His vision for a more transparent, impactful and accessible private equity, venture capital, and infrastructure sector aligns perfectly with Invest Europe’s mission to support long-term investment that delivers real value for society.”
Invest Europe is delighted to welcome the following Board directors, drawn from across Invest Europe’s membership, who have been elected for three years:
Clare Copeland, The Carlyle Group - Global Private Equity Platform
Louis Godron, Argos Wityu – Mid-Market Platform
Merrick McKay, Patria Private Equity (Europe) - Limited Partner Platform
Sander Slootweg, Forbion - Venture Capital Platform
Korosis’s appointment comes at a time when private equity, listed PE, venture capital and infrastructure investments are playing an increasingly essential role in driving innovation, productivity, sustainability and competitiveness in Europe. As Chair, he is committed to advancing Invest Europe’s mission to serve as a voice for the industry and a trusted partner for policymakers, investors and the public.
