Invest Week 2016 kicks off on Monday

The inaugural Invest Week, a series of events focused on the role of investment in the European economy, launches in Brussels on Monday, with top speakers spanning the policymaker, entrepreneurial and investment worlds.

Organisations from across Brussels have joined forces to create Invest Week, which runs from 28 November to 2 December and has been spearheaded by the association Invest Europe. The week’s sixteen events across Brussels will cover every aspect of the European investment landscape, highlighting the interaction of policy, regulation and investment decision-making. Bringing global investors to Brussels, Invest Week will promote the strength of Europe, the world’s largest economic area, as an investment destination.

“Invest Week is bringing together policymakers, investors and entrepreneurs from around the world to explore a positive agenda focused on Europe’s economic future,” said Michael Collins, CEO of Invest Europe. “The range of events and speakers promise to stimulate debate and contribute to finding practical solutions to increasing levels of investment in Europe — vital to economic growth.”

Confirmed speakers include Commissioners Jyrki Katainen and Carlos Moedas, Frédéric Mazzella, founder of BlaBlaCar; world-renowned investor David Rubenstein; and MEPs including Burkhard Balz, Dominique Riquet and Kay Swinburne, among many others.
