Private equity is really about building companies. It's about building a future for our society by having a strong group of companies in Europe that build its economy. The industry has taught me two things. One, it's always about the people you invest with, the people who lead the company whatever its size. Two, it's all about the perspective and the plans and the ambitions you have for the company.

Invest Europe is an association of practitioners and one of the largest in the world with 620 GPs, LPs, and service providers as members. Invest Europe's mission is to speak as one and convey to Europeans what our industry achieves and the value we create. Private capital firms' success is built under portfolio companies' success and to the extent these companies succeed, Europe prospers. Private capital employs 10 million people in 24,600 companies ranging from startups and SMEs to large multinationals.

The world of today is going through many crises and our industry's role is to finance the solutions to get out of them. Over the years, Invest Europe has united all the diverse private equity and venture capital communities by respecting their differences and leveraging everything they have in common.
