In celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Invest Europe, we asked a number of speakers and participants to share their insights on the past, present and future of the private equity and venture capital industry in Europe. Here’s a preview of what they had to say.

Thank you, the industry has taught me to be insanely curious thinking about the long term creating jobs new businesses and providing excellent returns for investors we have to be transparent and consistent making the companies they invest in more resilient and stronger really focusing on challenging the status quo and transforming complexities into opportunities.

More diverse companies with broader outlooks are proven to be more flexible more successful and ultimately your customers will reward you for that approach today more than 10 million people are working for private equity backed companies in Europe to serve positively the economy and as a consequence the society creating jobs and generating value for private companies which are really at the heart of the European economy.

Connect innovation and connective technologies to real world applications to develop the products and the companies that we rely on in the future we need innovation we need scale and we should scale it here in Europe. There's a focus and a responsibility that goes above and beyond just returns and value creations is building better businesses to include better ESG standards and also diversity and inclusion in this way we'll build better companies for the future a better industry a better returns for our investors.

Everything is possible with the right people and the right resources when we come together as an industry we have tremendous power to work together to create a better world, thank you.
