This unique film series, presented by Invest Europe, the world’s largest association of private capital providers, and produced by BBC StoryWorks Commercial Productions, brings to screen the human stories at the heart of the businesses that are driving change and fuelling growth through private capital.

A Different Angle aims to improve the understanding of private equity and venture capital, demystifying the virtuous circle of investing that supports our pensions and savings while exploring the true nature of innovation in Europe. It will also raise awareness about the expertise injected into businesses alongside capital, and how profit and purpose, such as high social and environmental goals, can work in harmony to produce better returns for investors and society.

Digital publishing company Mi Cuento specialises in making children the hero of their very own tale. Enter their story here…

Muriel Bourgeois from Barcelona, Spain, has a venture capital-backed digital publishing company called Mi Cuento. With over 40 different story adventures to choose from, this business specialises in making children the hero of their own tale. Kids go online, choose their story, and tailor it using both the digital feature choices from the Mi Cuento platform as well as their own editorial changes. Mi Cuento develops a wide catalogue of books with inclusive and accessible content for children with disabilities (autism, deafness & dyspraxia).

Muriel met her venture capital platform Impact Partners in 2020. Her co-founder Javier Falco had a background in finance, and not only did he help her mastermind her idea into a digital platform, but he also introduced her to a group of venture capitalists. Out of these VC firms, European Investment Fund-backed Impact Partners felt like the perfect fit as they specialised in social entrepreneurship and ed tech. The stories created here speak loudly enough for themselves.
