So for me what I love most about our industry is the fact that it's a team sport Anna so you need to bring people together from the management company of you need to bring people from the investor from the syndicus you need to be faithful from the board all have to come together and share their knowledge but what I've learned more than anything else is whilst knowledge is transferable experience is not an experience is what's key in our industry experience of how to run a company experience of how to handle the up and the down Cycles the pattern recognition of how to reduce the risk of execution and when you bring together experience resilience that's the secret sauce that's when the magic happens and so resilience and experience coming together is probably the most important thing I've learned from our industry.
I starflip is a scientist I followed the tip to the academic growth of PhD and postdoc I moved from Academia into industry so I'm a Believer in the impact science has in our lives well today you don't need to be a scientist you don't need to live in the world of venture capital to realize that biotech literally saved the planet we've seen that with Corona today. So for me the role of venture capital is to take the best ideas is to take the best Sciences to take the best technology and convert it into the products in the companies that we're going to rely on in the future the role of venture is the connect Innovation and connect new technologies to real world applications to develop the products and the companies that we rely on in the future. In doing that for training generations of people to think creatively we're teaching them to think critically we're teaching them to look for opportunities and be really ambitious and as part of that people get old people get sick people die they would rot or not biotech plays a role in solving some of those problems we're dealing with global warming we're dealing with resource problems on our planet biotech and life science also play an important role in this area I would say that we don't have a future tomorrow if we don't support the innovation in life sciences and in technologies foreign.
