Tubulis is a Munich-based, clinical-stage biotechnology company developing next-generation antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) to treat solid tumors. Founded by Dr. Dominik Schumacher and his team, the company pioneered proprietary ADC platform technologies — including its Tubutecan Linker-Payload Technology — designed to selectively deliver payloads to tumor cells and maximise patient benefit.
Its lead asset, TUB-040, a NaPi2b-targeting ADC for platinum-resistant ovarian cancer and non-small cell lung cancer, is in Phase 1b/2 clinical development and received FDA Fast Track designation in June 2024. Andera Partners led the €60 million Series B financing in 2022 and continued its support through the Series C. In October 2025, Tubulis closed a €344 million Series C — the largest ever raised by a European biotechnology company.
On 7 April 2026, Gilead Sciences announced its acquisition of Tubulis for up to $5 billion, one of the largest European biotech exits in recent history, and a landmark testament to the power of European venture capital.
Dr. Dominik Schumacher PhD
From the outset, we believed our conjugation technology platforms could have broad impact across the ADC field and the initial data from TUB-040 have reinforced that conviction. Joining Gilead allows us to build on this foundation within an organization that brings deep scientific expertise, global development capabilities, and the scale needed to translate innovation into medicines for patients worldwide.
