AI Series

AI Fundamentals in a PE context, 12 November @ 14:00 - 16:00 CET

Where does AI earn its place in PE work, and where does it have no business at all? This session covers:

·       An overview of the fund lifecycle showing where AI tools add real value and where they bring risk

·       The ways in which AI fails on finance work and how to catch these failures

·       The approach to any task: do it with AI, do it without, or do it with a person signing off.

Ideal for: Investment associates, VPs, and principals; deal teams; portfolio operations staff

Price: Invest Europe members €165; non-member price €235;

AI Governance, Risk and Compliance, 17 November @ 14:00 - 17:00 CET

A hands-on workshop on managing AI risk in private equity with a practical governance framework you can implement immediately. The session covers:

·       Regulatory context (SEC, EU AI Act, emerging state laws)

·       Data Confidentiality, MNPI & Information Barriers

·       AI governance in practice (working groups, policies, registers, organisational controls)

·       Pitfalls and how to avoid them.

·       Hot topics: note takers, HR, next-gen talent

·       Risks and mitigants (data leakage, prompt injection, autonomous activity, hallucination, sycophancy, bias)

Ideal for: Partners, COOs, CCOs, legal, IT and security.

Price: Invest Europe members €330; non-members €470;

Building an AI roadmap for a PE/VC firm, 24 November @ 14:00 - 17:00 CET

By the end of this session, the leadership team has a plan: what to pilot in the next 90 days, what to hold, and what to rule out. The session covers:

·       Finding where is the value across the deal cycle, looking at impact & effort

·       Making a platform decision: Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini?

·       Governance & risk considerations

·       Planning your approach: The 90-day pilots, what can wait, what to avoid

·       Build, buy, or configure, plus budget, ownership, and how you will measure success

Ideal for: Partners, COOs, the executive committee.

Price: Invest Europe members €330; non-members €470;

AI Tools, Workflows, and Prompts, 25 November @ 14:00 - 15:30 CET

Ad-hoc prompting does not scale. The firms that get value build a shared library and treat it like any other asset. The session will cover:

·       Best practice prompt writing

·       Prompting tips (clarifications, verification loops, utilising context)

·       Moving from prompting to automation

·       AI tool landscape

·       Building organisational capability

Ideal for: Everyone using AI.

Price: Invest Europe members €165; non-members €235;

Checking and Quality-Controlling AI Outputs, 2 December @ 14:30 - 16:00

The most dangerous AI output is the one that looks right and is not. This session builds the habit of checking before you trust, and covers the following topics:

·       How AI fails on finance work: invented facts, models that agree with you to please you, weak sourcing, and confident nonsense

·       A checking routine: trace the citation, ground the claim in a source, and attack your own output before someone else does

·       Sizing the human checkpoint to the risk of the task

·       How to benchmark a tool or model on a real finance task, rather than trusting the vendor's demo

Lab: we take a polished, plausible output and break it, then rebuild it correctly.

Participants leave with a verification checklist and a simple way to score one tool against another.

Ideal for: everyone using AI.

Price: Invest Europe members €165; non-members €235;

AI as a Subject of Diligence: A Target Company's AI Exposure and Upside, 3 December @ 14:30 - 16:00 CET

What does AI do to the company you are buying? The threat and the upside both belong in the memo.

·       Scoring how exposed a target is to AI disruption, and where its moat erodes

·       Mapping the upside: where AI could lift margin or growth inside the business

·       Diligencing a company that sells AI itself, and separating real capability from a label

·       Writing the AI section of the IC memo

·       Pricing it in: what the finding does to the thesis and the hold plan

Participants leave with an AI exposure-and-upside scorecard and a template for the memo section.

Ideal for: deal teams, IC, operating partners.

Price: Invest Europe members €165; non-members €235;
