Obstructive Sleep Apnea is a debilitating sleep disorder affecting millions around the world. It negatively impacts sufferers’ quality of life, and leads to other severe health issues, including cardiovascular disease, depression, and stroke. Nyxoah’s innovative Genio system offers a more comfortable and less bulky alternative to traditional mask-wearing treatments and relies on neurostimulation via a small device under the chin.

Venture capital investment supported the Belgium-based start-up through Genio’s extensive development and testing phase, ultimately preparing the company for a heavily oversubscribed IPO on the Euronext Brussels in 2020 at a valuation of approximately €375 million¹. Nyxoah secured a second listing on the Nasdaq at a valuation of $750 million in 2021². The company has received CE Mark approval for treating patients in Europe, opening new sites primarily in Germany to offer its implant technology to patients. Nyxoah expects to receive US regulatory approval in the first half of 2024³ and plans to open a manufacturing facility in Liege to cater for demand in the growing space.
