“In Finland, private equity-backed companies are growing on average 6-7 times faster and creating >10 times more jobs than their peer group. It’s so much more than transactions – it’s value creation, growing people and growing companies.”
It's really so much more than just transactions it's all the value Creations growing people growing companies I'm Pia Kåll I'm the CEO of CapMan we are a Nordic private asset company our vision and really what we want to create is today invest to build the society we want to see in 2040 so we drive sustainable transformations and growth in all of our assets and you could think of it as it's impatient longterm capital so we want actions to happen now and we drive actions now but it's really to maximize the value 5 years out and it's a win win. We create financial returns for our investors but we also build assets that are well managed contribute to the green transition in the society they could create economic growth and also employment to the society. I think the industry in general in the nordics is really good at doing this driving growth and driving employment and we we have studies showing for example in Finland that private equity backed companies are growing on average six to seven times faster they're creating more than 10 times more jobs annually than their peer group which is basically same industry same size companies but compared to those massively more growth and employment and or if I look at the Capman portfolio alone it's like 2,500 net new jobs annually and that's through covid that's through the outbreak of war in Ukraine that's the current economic situation so really creating growth and employment. One thing I wish that would be broadly more known is really what the private equity industry is doing, how we are contributing to society because I think this would also be one way where we would attract a more diverse talent pool into the industry it's really so much more than just transactions, it's all the value creations growing people growing companies and I think that's something that's attractive for a broader pool of of investment professionals not the least more gender equal industry.
