The private Equity industry has taught me about the importance of values, living by the Golden Rule, treating others as you would want to be treated, and about the value of longterm relationships. This is really an industry that you need to be in for the long term, and we build value for the long term. And it's taught me that innovation always wins. What works yesterday may not work today, and what works today may not work tomorrow. Just look at how creative this industry has been, and I'm sure we'll continue to innovate into the future.

Private Equity acts as the spear tip of European industrial, commercial, and technological development of our most attractive companies. It's an essential element for the scaleup and success of our midsized companies, and it's an important complement to the public markets in giving access to capital for these private companies, and in allowing our financial institutions and pension funds to get exposure to some of Europe's most attractive businesses.

And finally it's an important transmission mechanism for ESG and other future focused initiatives. Private Equity will help shape a better tomorrow by providing funding to Europe's most attractive businesses, helping to secure Europe place in the global economy.

And it will help by implementing and achieving sustainability objectives in the European midmarket, and of course it will help by generating returns for our investors, the pension funds and other people who rely on us to generate wealth today and for future generations.
