Foreign in this industry now for three decades and I think it's really taught me three things first of all this industry has been through a lot of different cycles over the past 30 years and I think it's taught me that you have to be adaptable but also open minded and receptive to new ideas that's the first thing secondly it's taught the importance of adhering to your quality standards overall we work with a number of different private equity managers we work with a lot of different clients and it's just essential to be true to yourself and apply your standards and then thirdly I think it's taught me the importance of relationships.
First of all it is investing clearly in private companies that are growth orientated this is the engine for economic growth and for employment in Europe and secondly is to provide great returns to investors and those investors can be pension funds they can be pensioners they can be insurance companies charities endowments foundations and increasingly to individual retail savers.
So our industry is all about good governance and alignment of interest and as part of that we have to continuously strive for better standards.
